Voices and Visions of Sudan: A Cinematic Reflection was a landmark film programme celebrating the richness, resilience and diversity of Sudanese cinema. Supported by the BFI, and presented by Almas Art Foundation, Maona Art and Aya Films, the programme was curated by acclaimed Sudanese filmmaker and producer Talal Afifi. Bringing together pioneering works and contemporary films, Voices and Visions of Sudan offered audiences an opportunity to engage with Sudan’s cinematic heritage through stories of identity, memory, creativity and social change. Through screenings, discussions and partnerships across the UK, the programme sought to broaden understanding of Sudan beyond familiar narratives, highlighting the vital role of film in preserving culture, amplifying voices and fostering dialogue during a period of profound change for the country.
